New plate for kriderii identification!

Our newest available subspecies identification plate is kriderii, the enigmatic pallid type of the northern Great Plains of North America. There is a lot to discuss when it comes to kriderii ID, especially considering the many individuals on the landscape that appear intermediate in characters between what is described above and the subspecies borealis. Even more, the types described in this plate are actually in the minority throughout the kriderii distribution. What explains this? We are working on a kriderii subspecies account that will outline the dilemma in detail, including the many unanswered questions that we hope to explore in the coming years. Until it is done, enjoy the plate, which is available to download as a PDF!
